The New Orleans Spring Garden Show, scheduled for April 6 & 7 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the New Orleans Botanical Gardens in City Park, will feature a variety of activities to be enjoyed by the home gardener and the professional. In addition to a variety of exhibits, music, a kids discovery area, arts & crafts and plant & products sales, a total of 6 of gardening education programs will be conducted.
Eductional programs on Saturday will include: 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM “Summer Flowering Vines” by Dan Gill of the LSU AgCenter; 1:00 to 2:00 PM “Louisiana Irises” by Patrick O’Connor of Zydeco Irises and Louisiana Iris Society; 2:30 to 3:30 PM “Common Diseases of the Home Vegetable Garden” by Andrew Loyd of the LSU AgCenter.
Educational programs on Sunday will include: 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM “Louisiana Super Plants” by Dr. Regina Bracey of the LSU AgCenter; 1:00 to 2:00 PM “The Cottage Garden” by Tammany Baumgarden of the New Orleans Master Gardener Association; 2:30 to 3:30 PM “The Natural, Edible Garden” by Amber Parker of the New Orleans Master Gardener Association.
The “Plant Doctor” Nick Singh from the LSU AgCenter Plant Diagnostic Center also will be on hand to answer questions about plant disease and insect and weed problems.
